
WEST VIRGINIA — Two Ohio men were arrested early Friday morning after police discovered a large amount of narcotics during a traffic stop in Raleigh County.
According to the Beckley Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle for speeding just after 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Harper Road.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Andy Gray Jr., 44, and Cornell Stevenson, 54, both of Cleveland, Ohio.
During the stop, officers reported observations that prompted them to deploy a K-9 unit around the vehicle. The police dog alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading officers to search the vehicle and its occupants.
Police said the search resulted in the seizure of approximately 445 grams of fentanyl, a small amount of cocaine and $3,500 in cash. Authorities estimated the fentanyl has a street value of about $90,000.
Gray, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with obstructing an officer, conspiracy to commit a felony, fleeing on foot and possession with intent to deliver.
Stevenson was charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of a controlled substance.
Both men were taken into custody and are each being held on $75,000 bond.
