PENNSYLVANIA — Two people were found shot to death inside a vehicle Thursday night in Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood, while a young child in the back seat was unharmed, authorities said.
Pittsburgh police, fire, and EMS responded around 8 p.m. to the 5200 block of Dearborn Street for reports of a vehicle crashing into a parked car.
Upon arrival, officers found a sedan had collided head-on with an SUV while traveling eastbound.
A woman was discovered just outside the driver’s door, and a man was in the front passenger seat. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head.
A child, approximately two years old, was also inside the vehicle but did not appear injured.
The child was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital in stable condition for evaluation.
Witnesses reported seeing a man flee the scene after the crash.
The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence, including shell casings and surveillance footage from nearby doorbell cameras.
The Pittsburgh Police Violent Crime Unit is investigating.
No suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
