OHIO — A multi-car crash early New Year’s Day in southwest Columbus left two people dead and another individual in police custody.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Alkire and Norton roads at 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Authorities said at least two vehicles were involved.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second victim was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead at 1:42 a.m.
Police confirmed one person was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and further details remain under investigation.
