OHIO — Two men died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 in Westfield Township late Thursday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred just after 10:10 p.m. on Halloween when a Volvo, disabled in the right lane of I-71 southbound, was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Trax, also traveling south.
The impact killed both drivers: a 73-year-old man driving the Chevrolet and a 68-year-old man operating the Volvo. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say a third vehicle, described as a maroon or red commercial vehicle, also struck the Volvo before fleeing the scene.
The Highway Patrol is seeking information on this vehicle, believed to have extensive driver- and passenger-side damage.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging anyone with information about the crash or the third vehicle to come forward.
