Two arrested in North Carolina for Molotov Cocktail attack on vehicle

NORTH CAROLINA — Two residents of Richlands have been arrested in connection with the use of a Molotov Cocktail to damage a vehicle, authorities said.

Aaron S. Burkhardt, 26, and Briana P. Irizarry, 33, were taken into custody Friday, Oct. 31, by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office. The incident reportedly occurred on Oct. 26.

Court documents state that both Burkhardt and Irizarry used a Molotov Cocktail to cause damage to a vehicle in Richlands.

Burkhardt faces two counts of malicious use of an incendiary explosive causing property damage and felony conspiracy. Irizarry faces one count of malicious use of an incendiary explosive causing property damage and felony conspiracy.

Both remain in the Onslow County Jail. Burkhardt was denied bond, while Irizarry was granted a $20,000 secured bond. Court dates for both are set for Monday, Nov. 3.
