OHIO — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting in the Mount Vernon neighborhood last week, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Giavon Hayes, 19, and Mi’Shawn Thomas, 18, are both charged with the murder of 18-year-old Darnell Brown-Jones.
The shooting occurred on Nov. 14 around 10:30 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Eton Grove, near Interstate 670.
Brown-Jones was found at the scene with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at 10:38 p.m.
Investigators said robbery appears to be a possible motive in the shooting.
Hayes was taken into custody on Tuesday by Columbus police, while Thomas was arrested on Thursday by Reynoldsburg police.
