CLEVELAND — Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday morning after a carjacking and brief police chase in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood, according to police.
The carjacking occurred around 9:45 a.m. on West 25th Street near Carroll Avenue.
Details of the incident have not yet been released, but a police spokesman confirmed that no one was injured in the robbery.
Officers from the Cleveland Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center located the stolen vehicle east of downtown, where officers on patrol spotted it and pursued.
The chase ended when the juveniles crashed the car near East 22nd Street and Cedar Avenue in the Central neighborhood.
Three individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot, but police quickly apprehended two of them.
During the arrest, an officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where they are expected to be treated and released.
Police also recovered a firearm near the scene of the crash. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
