NORTH CAROLINA — A routine traffic stop on August 2, 2025, led to the arrest of two men on drug-related charges.
Officers from the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad stopped a vehicle on Highway 258 North around 4:42 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation.
The driver, 65-year-old William Deeming of Lenoir County, was taken into custody due to an outstanding arrest order unrelated to the stop.
During the investigation, officers found methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The passenger, 25-year-old Jason Register, also from Lenoir County, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were taken to the Lenoir County Jail.
