BRIMFIELD — Two people were arrested following a police chase through residential neighborhoods on Sunday night that authorities say caused significant disturbance.
An 11-year-old child was also found inside the vehicle.
According to Brimfield police, the incident began around 9 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Edson Road for a traffic violation.
The driver reportedly failed to stop, leading police on a pursuit that traveled along Edson and Meloy Roads before entering nearby residential areas.
The chase ended when the driver stopped the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving behind another adult and an 11-year-old child.
With assistance from the Kent Police K-9 unit, officers tracked the suspect to a house on Perie Wood Lane in Brimfield, where the driver was arrested without further incident after a search warrant was obtained.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Michael Frampton of Brimfield, has been charged with failure to comply and endangering children.
Police also arrested 40-year-old Cheryl Hershberger, who has been charged with obstructing justice. Authorities say additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
