KENTUCKY — The Glasgow Police Department announced it will conduct traffic safety checkpoints throughout the city from March 6 through March 31.
According to the department, checkpoints will be set up at various locations, including Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
During the enforcement period, officers will focus on violations related to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, proper licensing of drivers and vehicles, registration and insurance compliance, seat belt and child restraint requirements, and motor vehicle equipment violations.
Police said traffic safety checkpoints are commonly used by law enforcement agencies across Kentucky as a tool to promote roadway safety and ensure compliance with state laws.
