
INDIANA — A tornado watch has been issued for several counties across northern Indiana Friday evening as severe storms move into the region.
According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, Tornado Watch 94 remains in effect until 10 p.m. CDT.
Counties included in the watch are Benton, Carroll, Cass, Fountain, Jasper, Newton, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Warren and White counties.
Communities within the watch area include Lafayette, West Lafayette, Logansport, Monticello, Rensselaer, Kentland, Attica and Fowler.
Forecasters warn that storms moving through the area may produce a few tornadoes, large hail and damaging wind gusts.
Residents in the affected counties are urged to stay alert, monitor weather conditions and have a way to receive warnings as severe weather develops.
The tornado watch is expected to remain in place through the evening hours.
