OHIO — A 19-month-old girl has died after being found unresponsive in a pond Sunday evening, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say a 911 call was received at approximately 7:23 p.m. reporting a child found in the water on the 19000 block of Paver Barnes Road, just northwest of Marysville.
Deputies arrived at the scene within eight minutes and immediately began performing CPR.
Medics from the Marysville Fire Department arrived shortly afterward and transported the child to Memorial Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m.
The sheriff’s office reported that a preliminary autopsy is being conducted by the Montgomery County Crime Lab.
The incident remains under investigation.
