
FLORIDA — Three teenagers were killed and others were seriously injured in a crash on Welch Road in Apopka, according to authorities.
The crash occurred as a truck was traveling east on Welch Road near Wekiwa Drive.
Investigators say the 17-year-old male driver lost control while navigating a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, strike a tree, and overturn.
The driver and two passengers, ages 15 and 14, were taken to nearby hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at AdventHealth Apopka. Two other passengers, ages 17 and 13, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the cause of the driver losing control has not yet been determined. The crash remains under investigation.
