TENNESSEE — A Kingsport police officer and two other individuals were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).
The collision occurred in the 800 block of Lynn Garden Drive near Truxton Drive.
A THP crash report stated that a Kingsport Police Department (KPD) officer was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on Lynn Garden Drive when a Nissan Frontier attempted to turn left from a Dairy Queen onto the roadway.
The Nissan reportedly failed to yield the right of way, causing the police vehicle to strike the pickup truck.
All three individuals involved — the officer, the driver of the Frontier, and a passenger in the civilian vehicle — were transported to Holston Valley Medical Center. The Kingsport Police Department indicated that all injuries were believed to be minor.
The crash remains under investigation.
