LOUISIANA — A major drug bust in Baton Rouge led to the seizure of over 2,800 lethal doses of fentanyl and the arrest of three individuals, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO).
The investigation began in March 2025 when deputies focused on two suspects, Jermaine Harris, 43, and Terrance Noel, 48, both of Baton Rouge, who were believed to be involved in drug trafficking.
The investigation involved hours of surveillance of the suspects at their residence on Victoria Drive, where active warrants had been issued for Harris.
On March 26, EBRSO SWAT deputies executed a search warrant at the Victoria Drive address and Harris’ vehicle, leading to significant drug seizures.
The following items were confiscated during the operation:
The three individuals arrested during the bust were Lakitra Betts, 46, Terrance Noel, 48, and Jermaine Harris, 43.
The charges they face include possession and distribution of various controlled substances, including fentanyl, hydrocodone, and buprenorphine.
During a recorded interview, Noel admitted to attempting to dispose of drugs as deputies arrived and was seen flushing drugs down the toilet in drone footage.
He also acknowledged that both the fentanyl and firearm found in his room belonged to him.
Authorities continue to investigate the case, emphasizing the significant danger posed by the distribution of fentanyl, a potent opioid linked to numerous overdose deaths across the country.
The bust highlights the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat the opioid crisis and drug trafficking in the Baton Rouge area.
