Three people arrested following stabbing incident in Illnois

ILLINOIS — Three juveniles were taken into custody after a stabbing incident Friday afternoon in Danville, according to police.

Danville Police said the incident occurred around 3:53 p.m. on March 12 while an officer was conducting routine patrol near East Main Street and Griffin Street. The officer observed multiple individuals involved in an altercation in the roadway.

Officers intervened and launched an investigation, which determined a 34-year-old woman had been stabbed during the incident.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.

Police said three juveniles were arrested in connection with the incident. A 13-year-old girl was charged with aggravated assault and mob action. A 14-year-old girl was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and mob action. A 17-year-old girl was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and mob action.

The investigation remains ongoing.
