OHIO — Three teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with a weekend shooting that left a 14-year-old girl hospitalized, according to Sandusky police.
Police Chief Jared Oliver said the shooting occurred around 11:20 p.m. Saturday on Stone Street.
The victim was shot in the lower torso and was initially taken to a hospital in Sandusky before being transferred to a Cleveland hospital for further treatment.
Two of the suspects are 15 years old and the third is 14. All three have been charged in Erie County Juvenile Court with complicity to felonious assault and complicity to improper discharge into a habitation.
During the investigation, officers found a firearm in the home of one of the suspects. The weapon had previously been reported stolen from Michigan, according to police reports.
Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting, and the case remains under investigation.
