Three people arrested following multiple vehicle break-ins in Georgia

GEORGIA — Chatham County Police have arrested three people following a series of 13 illegal vehicle entries reported in Savannah on Sept. 11.

Police said the arrests were made within hours of the crimes being reported.

On Thursday night, detectives arrested 21-year-old Antonio James Griffin in connection with one of the incidents near Johnny Mercer Boulevard and Bryan Woods Road. Griffin faces charges of felony possession of tools for the commission of a crime, felony theft by receiving stolen property, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

On Saturday, patrol officers arrested 38-year-old Robert Pete Skrine in connection with a vehicle entry outside a convenience store in Sandfly. Skrine is charged with felony entering an automobile with intent to commit theft or felony and misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Early Sunday morning, officers responded to a report of a man rummaging through a vehicle in the 800 block of Quacco Road. Police arrested 31-year-old Raijon Lamar Ross, who is charged with felony entering an automobile with intent to commit theft or felony and misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Chatham County Police reminded residents not to leave valuables inside their vehicles, especially firearms.
