TENNESSEE — Three men were taken into custody Monday evening following a high-speed chase on Interstate 24 during rush hour, according to court documents.

TITANS detectives attempted to stop a black Nissan Altima around 5 p.m. on I-24 West near Old Hickory Boulevard for excessive window tint and speeding nearly 20 mph over the limit. The vehicle did not stop and weaved through traffic.

When traffic slowed, two passengers, Zarek Jones, 23, and Michael Graham, 22, allegedly fled on foot into nearby woods despite commands from detectives. The driver, Kyndell Owens, 23, remained in the vehicle and was arrested at the scene.

Jones and Graham were apprehended after a short chase. Police said a backpack carried by Jones contained a loaded Glock 19 with an extended magazine, a loaded Glock 21, 15 grams of cocaine, and 318 grams of marijuana. The Glock 19 was reported stolen from Murfreesboro in February.

Jones, who had multiple outstanding warrants from Robertson County, was booked into Metro jail on charges including felony firearm theft, felony cocaine possession, felony marijuana possession, two counts of felony weapon possession, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession.

Graham was arrested on five outstanding warrants and charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession. Owens faces felony arrest evasion and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession and was released Tuesday morning on bond.
