SOUTH CAROLINA — An undercover investigation prompted by community complaints in Florence County resulted in three arrests on Wednesday, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Bureau.
Deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Azelea Street in Johnsonville after investigators conducted undercover operations in response to concerns raised by residents. Authorities arrested three men at the residence: Kelvin Singletary, 47; Eric Singletary, 50; and Hoyt Hewitt, 50.
Officials said Kelvin Singletary was found with cocaine base, marijuana, and a firearm, despite being a convicted felon. Investigators also allege he sold cocaine to undercover confidential informants on multiple occasions.
During the search, Eric Singletary was reportedly found with cocaine base and is accused of resisting arrest while attempting to destroy evidence. Hewitt was also allegedly in possession of marijuana and cocaine base.
Kelvin Singletary faces several charges, including possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Eric Singletary is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and resisting arrest. Hewitt faces charges of possession with intent to distribute both marijuana and cocaine base.
All three suspects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
