SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities say three people have been arrested and more than 60 pounds of narcotics seized following two traffic stops in Greenville County.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the first arrest happened on Sept. 16 when deputies stopped 29-year-old Kaleb Jordan Merritt.

During the stop, investigators discovered over 40 pounds of methamphetamine. Merritt was charged with trafficking methamphetamine 400 grams or more.

On Sept. 29, deputies said a second traffic stop led to the discovery of six kilograms of cocaine during a consent search. That search resulted in the arrests of 27-year-old Gerardo Magana Mora and 24-year-old Bryan A. Rios Flores. Both men were charged with trafficking cocaine 400 grams or more.

In total, authorities reported seizing 44.35 pounds of methamphetamine and 16.92 pounds of cocaine.

The investigation was carried out by the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit, which includes the sheriff’s office, the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, and several local police departments across the county.
