Three people arrested following drug bust in Ohio

OHIO — Three Jefferson County residents were arrested following a series of drug-related search warrants carried out last week, according to the Jefferson County Drug Task Force.

Law enforcement officers executed warrants at a residence located at 1428 Pennsylvania Avenue and at two apartments at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue in Steubenville.

During the searches, detectives seized approximately 100 grams of cocaine, 80 stamp bags of fentanyl, and $1,200 in cash.

The suspects were identified as 50-year-old George Lewis Boyd Jr., 19-year-old George Lewis Boyd III, and 28-year-old Tayonna Wade.

All three were charged with possession and drug trafficking. In addition, Wade faces a charge of illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.

All three suspects were arraigned in Steubenville Municipal Court and are currently awaiting preliminary hearings.

The Jefferson County Drug Task Force is made up of members from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Steubenville Police Department, and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office.
