Three people arrested following drug bust in Ohio

OHIO — A yearlong investigation by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department has led to a major drug bust on Cleveland’s west side, where deputies confiscated at least 25 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

The operation took place Tuesday and also resulted in the seizure of additional narcotics and firearms.

Three individuals were detained at the scene.

On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Department released a statement confirming the bust stemmed from a “yearlong investigation into a drug trafficking enterprise.”

Deputies executed search warrants at two homes—one in the 3200 block of West 131st Street and another on McGowan Avenue in Cleveland.

“The investigation, which began with a citizen complaint about drug activity in March of 2024, led investigators to dismantle an organization that had been supplying illicit drugs to neighborhoods on the west side of Cleveland,” the release stated.

Sheriff Harold Pretel praised the work of the investigators, saying the case highlights their persistence and dedication.

He also noted that during the investigation, other operations resulted in an additional arrest and further seizures of drugs and cash believed to be tied to the drug network.

“To date, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department reports the confiscation of 28 pounds of methamphetamines, 2,443 grams of cocaine, 480 grams of fentanyl pills, 247 grams of heroin, $20,707 in U.S. currency, and 2 firearms in this case,” the release added.

Officials have not yet released the names of the suspects.

The suspects could face multiple felony charges, including Drug Trafficking, Possession of Criminal Tools, and Having Weapons While Under Disability.
