NORTH CAROLINA — A traffic stop in Asheboro on March 18, 2026, resulted in the arrest of three individuals and multiple drug-related charges, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies conducted the stop in the area of Ross Harris Road and determined that passengers John Christopher Turner, 37, Sherry Ann Durham, 54, and Pamela Nicole Kelly, 45, all had outstanding orders for arrest. Authorities said Kelly initially provided a false name to deputies.

All three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. During a search, deputies reported finding illegal substances and drug paraphernalia. Additional substances were also discovered in Durham’s possession during the jail booking process.

A magistrate found probable cause for several charges. Kelly was charged with felony identity theft and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $10,000 secured bond, along with an additional $50,000 secured bond tied to outstanding failure-to-appear charges.

Durham faces charges of felony possession of heroin, felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued a $5,000 secured bond, along with a $2,000 secured bond related to a prior order for arrest.

Turner was charged with felony possession of fentanyl, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was denied bond on the new charges due to being out on pretrial release but received a $2,000 secured bond for failure to appear.

All three defendants are scheduled to appear in Randolph County District Court on March 20, 2026.
