INDIANA — Three Fort Wayne residents are facing charges after Indiana State Police discovered drugs and stolen firearms during a traffic stop Tuesday evening.
According to a press release, troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding near Fremont on I-69 just before 8 p.m. Police said they smelled marijuana during the stop, which led to a probable cause search of the vehicle.
Troopers found several packages of marijuana, along with a handgun and a rifle. Both firearms had previously been reported stolen.
The driver, 41-year-old Damarcus Rogers, was charged with felony theft of a firearm, as well as misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. Two passengers were also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
The investigation is ongoing.
