GEORGIA — Three people were arrested Thursday after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence near Legion Park in Ben Hill County, according to the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said its Special Operations Unit, assisted by the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and the Department of Community Supervision, carried out the search warrant at 315 West Ohoopee Street, a home located about one block from Legion Park.
Investigators said the warrant followed a quick investigation by the Special Operations Unit after receiving information that a suspect who had previously been arrested on Dec. 11, 2025, for selling methamphetamine was in possession of a handgun despite being prohibited by law from having firearms.
During the search of the residence, deputies said they found multiple baggies of methamphetamine packaged for sale, along with items commonly used in the distribution of illegal narcotics, including two digital scales and packaging materials.
Authorities also recovered a loaded handgun from inside the home.
According to the sheriff’s office, everyone present at the residence was a convicted felon and therefore prohibited from possessing firearms. Three people were taken into custody.
The individuals are facing charges that include sale of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, along with other felony and misdemeanor charges.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests and charges are expected. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (229) 426-5226. Callers may remain anonymous.
