FLORIDA — Three people have been arrested following a warrant arrest that led to a major drug bust in Washington County, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies said they encountered Ashley Simmons outside a residence on Olie Road and recognized her as having active felony warrants out of Holmes County related to a child abuse case. Authorities said Simmons ran inside a mobile home in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Investigators said deputies later located Simmons hiding inside a residential clothes dryer. After taking her into custody, deputies conducted a search of the home.
During the search, officials said they recovered more than 78 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun. Two additional individuals inside the residence, identified as Carlton Chance Harrell and James Michael Cox, were also arrested. Deputies said Harrell is a convicted felon.
All three suspects were transported to the Washington County Jail. Authorities said they are facing multiple felony charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
