SOUTH CAROLINA — Three people face multiple charges following a police raid at a North Charleston motel earlier this month.
Authorities said Lushwanna Gathers-Drayton, 22; Jerome Simmons Jr., 37; and Glenn Jerome Ferguson, 48, were arrested on Aug. 4 after the North Charleston Police Narcotics Unit and the Intelligence Led Policing Unit executed a search warrant at the North Charleston Lodge on the 2500 block of Ashley Phosphate Road. The three now face a combined total of more than 50 charges, according to jail records.
Police said investigators seized significant amounts of illegal drugs, including cocaine base, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and fentanyl. Three firearms, rifle magazines with ammunition, a digital scale, and other drug-related paraphernalia were also recovered.
“This operation reflects our department’s ongoing commitment to proactively identifying and disrupting illegal drug and gun activity in our community,” Police Chief Ron Camacho said. “We will continue to pursue those who endanger public safety through narcotics and weapons trafficking.”
The three suspects were being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
