Three people arrested following drug bust at Ohio Walmart

OHIO — A reported shoplifting incident at a Walmart store led to the arrest of three people on drug-related charges, according to Richland Township Police.

Officers responded March 18 after Walmart loss prevention reported a suspected shoplifter. Police said a woman, identified as Brittany Guthrie, was detained and found with more than $800 worth of unpaid merchandise.

During the investigation, officers also discovered a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and learned Guthrie had four outstanding warrants.

While at the scene, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be connected to Guthrie. Two men, identified as Joshua Biery and Jeff Andlinger, were taken into custody.

All three suspects were transported to the Belmont County Jail.

Biery faces charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant.

Guthrie is charged with theft, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drugs, and four outstanding warrants.

Andlinger is charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
