FLORIDA — Three people have been arrested following an armed robbery that occurred during a reported drug deal in Lake City, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s officials said deputies responded to a home in Lake City during the early morning hours of last Thursday after a male victim reported that his girlfriend’s cellphone and marijuana were taken at gunpoint. The victim told deputies that he and his girlfriend were in their driveway planning to sell marijuana to a man later identified as Trey Jacobs, 21, whom they had communicated with on Snapchat.
According to the report, when Jacobs arrived, he exited a vehicle and pointed a handgun at the couple. Deputies said two masked males then emerged and began searching the victims for additional items. After the search, one of the masked suspects punched the female victim in the face before all suspects fled the scene in a white car.
Investigators said that when deputies attempted to take Jacobs into custody on Saturday, his girlfriend, Bridget Butcher, 23, helped him evade arrest. She was taken into custody and charged with accessory after the fact to armed robbery, a third-degree felony.
Deputies later located Jacobs and arrested him on Saturday. He was charged with robbery with a firearm, a first-degree felony. Authorities also identified a third suspect as Camario Walker, 16. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was later taken into custody. Walker was charged with robbery with a firearm, a third-degree felony, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.
Sheriff’s officials said the stolen cellphone was recovered. Deputies also seized two firearms, multiple magazines, and approximately 120 rounds of ammunition as part of the investigation.
