VIRGINIA — A large-scale drug trafficking organization operating through vape shops in Northern Virginia has been dismantled following a multi-agency investigation, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Detectives with the department’s Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed search warrants March 18 at 20 locations across Fairfax County and Prince William County. The operation targeted a regional organization accused of distributing illegal narcotics through vape stores.

Authorities said search warrants were carried out at 13 vape shops, two storage units, a warehouse, a vehicle and multiple residences. Additional warrants were executed with assistance from the Arlington County Police Department, along with federal and state partners including the Drug Enforcement Administration and Virginia State Police.

During the operation, investigators seized large quantities of drugs, including marijuana in various forms such as flower, vape cartridges, pre-rolls and edibles. Detectives also recovered approximately 40 pounds of suspected mushroom-infused gummies, as well as unknown pills and suspected prescription medications allegedly being sold without authorization.

Authorities said two storage units contained hundreds of pounds of marijuana, highlighting the scale of the operation. In total, investigators seized narcotics with an estimated street value exceeding $2 million, along with more than $500,000 in cash. Thirty bank accounts tied to the organization, containing more than $100,000, were also frozen.

Three men from Woodbridge were arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Omar Salim, 65; Saleh Salim, 36; and Saed Salim, 39, each face charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Officials said Omar and Saleh Salim were released on $5,000 bond, while Saed Salim was released on a $50,000 bond.

During a follow-up search conducted March 21 at a residence in Prince William County, detectives also recovered two rifles and four handguns, along with additional evidence.

Police said the investigation significantly disrupted the flow of illegal narcotics in the region and remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
