Three people arrested after police bust drug deal in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — Three people were arrested Wednesday after police said they were involved in a suspected hand-to-hand drug transaction.

According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers conducting proactive patrols along Ashley Phosphate Road due to reports of increased drug activity observed a person interacting with individuals inside a vehicle. Police said the interaction appeared to be a hand-to-hand exchange.

Authorities followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on LaQuinta Lane. During a search of the vehicle, officers reported finding several hypodermic needles and a plastic bag containing about 0.41 grams of pink powder that field-tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl.

Brandy Marie Farless, Antonio Mack Steward, and Martin W. Montjoy were each charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl within proximity of a school or public park, and possession of cocaine. All three were taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
