SOUTH CAROLINA — The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an animal cruelty case after three deceased dogs were found shot along a roadway in southern Greenville County.

Deputies said the dogs were discovered Saturday, Dec. 27, along McKittrick Bridge Road Extension in Fountain Inn. The sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting the incident around 6 p.m. Investigators determined that each of the dogs had been shot at least once.

According to deputies, the animals were left at the scene with a blanket. None of the dogs were wearing collars or had identification microchips, leading investigators to believe the dogs were intentionally harmed.

The sheriff’s office said it is actively working to identify the person or people responsible for the act of animal cruelty.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who recognizes the dogs is asked to contact Animal Cruelty Investigator Darren Britt by email at dbritt@greenvillecounty.org or call the sheriff’s office non-emergency number at (864) 271-5210.
