
WISCONSIN — Thousands of residents across Wisconsin are without electricity as of Saturday afternoon, according to outage tracking data.
PowerOutage.us reports approximately 8,324 homes and businesses are currently without power statewide, representing about 0.29% of nearly 2.9 million customers tracked.
The highest number of outages has been reported in Portage County, where 2,747 customers are without power. Waupaca County is reporting 1,715 outages, followed by Shawano County with 1,305 and Menominee County with 1,299.
Additional outages have been reported in Marathon County with 846 customers affected, along with smaller numbers in Oconto County, Wood County and Forest County.
Among utility providers, Alliant Energy reports the largest number of outages with 3,504 customers affected. Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative reports 2,921 outages and the highest percentage of customers impacted at about 34.83%. Wisconsin Public Service is reporting 1,646 outages.
Officials say outage numbers may fluctuate as crews continue restoration efforts and additional outages are reported.
Residents are urged to report outages to their utility providers and to avoid downed power lines.
Restoration efforts are ongoing across the state.
