VIRGINIA — Power outages were reported across several parts of Virginia as of Sunday evening, according to data from PowerOutage.com, leaving thousands of customers without electricity statewide.
As of the latest update, approximately 8,663 customers were without power out of more than 4 million customers tracked across the Commonwealth. The outages were scattered, with no single county experiencing a widespread loss, but several localities reported notable numbers of customers affected.
Chesterfield County reported the highest number of outages, with nearly 3,000 customers without power.
Fairfax County followed with more than 800 outages, while Gloucester County reported over 500 customers without electricity. Additional outages were recorded in Norfolk, Patrick, Essex, Hanover, and Powhatan counties, each reporting several hundred customers affected.
Utility crews were continuing restoration efforts Sunday evening as conditions allowed.
