
TEXAS — More than 5,500 homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, approximately 5,571 customers are without power statewide out of more than 15.6 million customers tracked, representing about 0.04% of all customers.
Tarrant County is reporting the highest number of outages, with 806 customers affected. Other counties with notable outages include Rockwall County with 601, McLennan County with 540, Montgomery County with 461, and Dallas County with 414 customers without power.
By utility provider, Oncor is reporting the largest number of outages, with 3,648 customers affected. Entergy and CenterPoint Energy are also reporting smaller numbers of outages across their service areas.
Despite the outages, the percentage of customers impacted remains relatively low statewide. However, Texas currently ranks among the states with the highest number of outages in the country.
Officials have not released information on the specific causes of the outages, but scattered power disruptions are common during periods of unsettled weather and high demand.
Crews are expected to continue working to restore service throughout the day.
