
TEXAS — Thousands of residents across Texas are without electricity Friday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, approximately 2,309 customers statewide are experiencing power outages, representing about 0.01% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked.
Harris County reported the highest number of outages, with 1,084 customers affected. Other counties with notable outages included Collin County with 306 outages, Dallas County with 176 and Travis County with 111. Additional outages were reported in Anderson, Denton, Tarrant and Montgomery counties.
By utility provider, CenterPoint Energy reported the largest number of outages, with 1,129 customers affected. Oncor reported 797 outages, while other providers, including Pedernales Electric Cooperative and Austin Energy, reported smaller numbers.
Despite the outages, the overall percentage of affected customers remains low. Texas currently ranks seventh in the nation for total outages and 20th for percentage of customers impacted.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, and customers are encouraged to report outages to their local utility providers.
