Thousands without power in Texas

TEXAS — Thousands of residents across Texas are without electricity Tuesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, approximately 6,581 customers are without power statewide out of more than 15.5 million tracked, representing about 0.04% of customers.

The largest concentration of outages was reported in Rusk County, where 3,366 customers were without power, accounting for roughly 14.39% of those tracked in the county. Llano County reported 1,238 outages, while Harris County — the state’s most populous county — had 707 customers without electricity.

Smaller numbers of outages were also reported in Nacogdoches County, Montgomery County, Fort Bend County, Dallas County and Brazoria County.

Among utility providers, Rusk County Electric Cooperative reported the highest number of outages, with more than 3,500 customers affected. Pedernales Electric Cooperative and CenterPoint Energy also reported notable outages.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and customers are advised to check with their local utility providers for updates.
