
TEXAS — More than 18,000 customers across Texas are without electricity Thursday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, approximately 18,115 homes and businesses are without power statewide. That represents about 0.12% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked across Texas.
Travis County reports the highest number of outages, with 3,878 customers affected. Gregg County follows with 3,245 outages, while Dallas County has 1,675. Additional outages have been reported in Harris County, Randall County, Tarrant County, Collin County and Cass County.
By utility provider, Oncor reports the largest number of outages, with 5,090 customers without power. Austin Energy follows with 3,853 outages, while Southwestern Electric Power Company and Rusk County Electric Cooperative also report significant impacts.
Despite the relatively small percentage of customers affected statewide, Texas currently ranks among the states with the highest total number of outages nationwide.
The cause of the outages has not been specified. Utility crews are expected to continue restoration efforts as conditions allow.
