
TEXAS — Thousands of homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity Monday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 18,370 customers across the state are without power out of more than 15.6 million customers tracked statewide, representing about 0.12% of all customers.
Among Texas’ 254 counties, Harris County reported the highest number of outages with 6,436 customers without electricity. Other counties experiencing notable outages included Hidalgo County with 2,121 outages, Bexar County with 1,647, Galveston County with 746, and Dallas County with 631 customers without power.
By utility provider, CenterPoint Energy reported the largest number of customers affected, with 7,623 outages among more than 3.3 million customers served. Other utilities reporting outages included American Electric Power Texas with 2,741 customers without power, Oncor with 2,329 outages, CPS Energy with 1,657, and Entergy with 1,616.
Overall, Texas currently ranks seventh in the United States for the total number of power outages, according to the outage monitoring site.
Utility crews across the state continue working to restore service.
