Thousands without power in Texas

TEXAS — Nearly 12,000 homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity Wednesday, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 11,846 customers statewide are reported without power out of more than 15.5 million tracked customers. The outages account for about 0.08% of electricity customers in the state.

Uvalde County reported the highest number of outages with 1,607 customers without power.

Other counties with notable outages include Harris County with 1,356 customers affected, San Jacinto County with 1,253 outages and Tarrant County with 1,054. Comal County reported 756 outages, while Travis County had 640 customers without electricity.

By utility company, Oncor reported the largest number of outages with 3,529 customers affected. Bandera Electric Cooperative reported 2,009 outages, while CenterPoint Energy listed 1,597 customers without power. Sam Houston Electric Cooperative reported 1,258 outages and Pedernales Electric Cooperative had 867 customers affected.

Statewide, officials continue to monitor the outages as utility crews work to restore service. Texas currently ranks second in the nation for the total number of power outages.
