
TENNESSEE — More than 9,000 customers across Tennessee are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
The latest data shows approximately 9,248 homes and businesses are experiencing outages statewide, representing about 0.27% of the more than 3.4 million customers tracked.
Shelby County, which includes Memphis, is by far the hardest-hit area, accounting for the vast majority of outages. Officials report 9,026 customers without power in the county alone, making up more than 2% of tracked customers there.
Other counties reporting smaller numbers of outages include Sevier County with 91 customers affected, Rutherford County with 44, Roane County with 18, Davidson County with 17 and Carter County with 11.
Utility data shows Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division has the largest number of outages, with more than 9,000 customers impacted.
Statewide, Tennessee currently ranks among the top states in the nation for power outages, placing second in total outages and fourth in percentage of customers affected.
Restoration timelines were not immediately available.
