
TENNESSEE — Thousands of customers across Tennessee are without electricity Friday morning as outages were reported statewide, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, approximately 5,885 homes and businesses are without power, representing about 0.17% of the more than 3.4 million customers tracked across the state.
The largest number of outages was reported in Dickson County, where 1,914 customers were without power. Hickman County followed with 1,522 outages, accounting for the highest percentage of customers affected at more than 32%.
In West Tennessee, Shelby County reported 1,340 outages, while Sevier County in East Tennessee had 752 customers without power. Smaller outages were also reported in Montgomery County and Davidson County.
Utility providers with the largest number of outages included Dickson Electric System, which reported 3,441 customers without power, followed by Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division with 1,340 outages.
Tennessee ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide, according to outage tracking data.
Utility crews are working to restore service, though no estimated restoration times were immediately available. Residents are encouraged to report outages to their local provider and avoid downed power lines.
