Thousands without power in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — As of Monday afternoon, 3,396 homes and businesses across Pennsylvania are without electricity, according to the latest outage data. That represents about 0.05% of the 6,706,822 customers tracked statewide.

Pennsylvania currently ranks third in the nation for the total number of power outages and ninth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

Out of the state’s 67 counties, Washington County has been hit the hardest, reporting 1,401 customers without power. That accounts for approximately 1.27% of customers in the county, the highest percentage in Pennsylvania.

Other counties reporting notable outages include Philadelphia County with 414 customers affected, Butler County with 332, Clearfield County with 177, Montgomery County with 173, Delaware County with 130, Bucks County with 120, and Allegheny County with 81.

Seventeen utilities are tracked across Pennsylvania. FirstEnergy reports the largest number of customers without service at 2,315 outages. FirstEnergy also has the highest percentage of customers affected among utilities in the state, at 0.11%.

Utility crews continue working to restore service to affected areas.
