
PENNSYLVANIA — Thousands of customers across Pennsylvania are without electricity Wednesday afternoon, according to outage tracking data.
As of the latest update, approximately 5,271 homes and businesses are without power statewide out of more than 6.7 million customers tracked. The outages represent about 0.08% of customers across the state.
The highest number of outages was reported in Allegheny County, where about 2,595 customers were without power. Other impacted areas included Beaver County with 363 outages, Erie County with 352, Crawford County with 224, and Bucks County with 215.
Among utility providers, Duquesne Light Company reported the largest number of customers affected, with 2,951 outages. FirstEnergy reported 1,189 outages, followed by PPL Electric Utilities with 685 and PECO Energy Company with 438.
Officials have not released a cause for the outages, and there is no estimated timeline for full restoration.
Crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
