Thousands without power in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Pennsylvania are without electricity Monday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, approximately 2,852 customers are experiencing outages statewide, representing about 0.04% of the more than 6.7 million customers tracked.

Indiana County reported the highest number of outages, with 486 customers affected, followed by Philadelphia County with 459 outages. Berks County reported 261 customers without power, while Montgomery County had 252 outages. Somerset County rounded out the hardest-hit areas with 223 customers affected.

Among utility providers, FirstEnergy reported the largest number of outages, with 1,293 customers without service. PECO Energy Company followed with 1,088 outages, and PPL Electric Utilities reported 251 customers affected.

Statewide, Pennsylvania ranked among the top states in the nation for total outages Monday morning, placing fifth overall.

Utility crews are expected to continue working to restore service throughout the day.
