Thousands without power in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA — More than 4,000 homes and businesses across Oklahoma are without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 4,293 customers statewide are reported without power out of more than 2 million tracked customers. The outages represent about 0.21% of electricity customers across the state.

McCurtain County reported the highest number of outages, with 907 customers without power.

Other counties with notable outages include Rogers County with 890 customers affected, Love County with 727 outages and Mayes County with 719 customers without electricity. Murray County also reported 542 outages.

By utility company, Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative reported the largest number of outages with 1,649 customers affected. OG&E Energy Corp. listed 977 customers without power, while Choctaw Electric Cooperative reported 905 outages. Red River Valley REA also reported 576 customers without electricity.

Statewide, officials continue to monitor the outages as crews work to restore service. Oklahoma currently ranks among the states with the highest percentage of customers affected by power outages nationwide.
