
NORTH CAROLINA — As of Monday afternoon, 2,511 homes and businesses across North Carolina are without electricity, according to the latest outage data. That represents approximately 0.04% of the 5,872,455 customers tracked statewide.
North Carolina currently ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of reported power outages and 12th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Out of the state’s 100 counties, Wayne County has the highest number of outages, with 877 customers without power. Wayne is also the hardest-hit county by percentage, with about 1.42% of its customers affected.
Other counties reporting notable outages include Wake County with 570 customers without service, Onslow County with 109, Mecklenburg County with 94, Catawba County with 90, Macon County with 63, Craven County with 55, and Rockingham County with 51.
Ninety-eight utilities are tracked across North Carolina. Duke Energy reports the largest number of customers without power, with 1,964 outages. Tri-County EMC has the highest percentage of customers affected among utilities in the state, at 1.42%.
Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts in impacted areas.
