
NORTH CAROLINA — More than 4,000 homes and businesses are without electricity across North Carolina as of Wednesday morning, according to outage tracking data.
Officials reported approximately 4,070 customers without power statewide, representing about 0.07% of more than 5.8 million customers being tracked. North Carolina currently ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide.
The largest number of outages was reported in Anson County, where nearly 1,500 customers were without power. Polk County also reported significant outages, with more than 1,200 customers affected.
Additional outages were reported in Lincoln County, Durham County, Guilford County and Mecklenburg County.
Among utility providers, Duke Energy reported the highest number of outages, with more than 2,200 customers affected. Pee Dee Electric also reported a significant number of outages and the highest percentage of customers impacted.
Crews are working to restore service as officials continue to monitor conditions statewide.
