Thousands without power in Louisiana

LOUISIANA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Louisiana are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to the latest power outage data.

A total of 6,475 customers are reported without power statewide. That represents about 0.28% of the 2,319,526 electric customers currently being tracked across Louisiana.

Several parishes are reporting notable numbers of outages. Livingston Parish has the largest number of customers without electricity, with 2,363 outages reported. East Baton Rouge Parish follows with 1,287 customers without power.

Other parishes reporting outages include Tangipahoa Parish with 603 customers affected, St. Tammany Parish with 548, and Iberville Parish with 547. Allen Parish reported 275 outages, while East Feliciana Parish had 169 customers without electricity. Beauregard Parish reported 118 outages.

Utility companies across Louisiana are continuing to monitor the situation and work to restore service where outages have occurred. The cause of the outages was not immediately known.
